The University of Leeds
The University of Leeds is one of the top ten universities in the UK. We offer a wide choice of interdisciplinary degrees including unusual subject combinations such as music and electronic engineering and Japanese with linguistics. Since the merger in 2001 with Bretton Hall, the University has strengthened its position as a leading player in the provision of music, visual and performing arts. Bretton Hall campus is set in 260 acres near to the famous Yorkshire Sculpture Park, an open-air gallery. The Wakefield campus, with prime activities in Continuing Education and Fine Art, is situated on Barnsley Road, near to the city centre. Both campuses are within 30 minutes drive of Leeds.
The majority of the University departments are located on a single campus within a few minutes' walk of the city centre. Leeds is ranked as one of the top three places to shop in the UK and also offers an extensive choice of places to eat, drink and relax including award winning restaurants, Victorian pubs, fashionable wine bars and restaurants and venues offering every type of ethnic cuisine.
