Reflecting the ambitions of our people

Toyota is one of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers. Following 70 years of growth, we now produce over 8 million vehicles a year and employ over 290,000 people worldwide. In the UK, we have over 4,800 employees (or Members, as we call them).

We have two manufacturing plants in the UK, into which we have invested £1.75 billion: our manufacturing plant at Burnaston in Derbyshire and our engine plant in Deeside, North Wales. Through the continual pursuit of excellence at our plants, the last 15 years have seen a succession of top-performing vehicles drive off our UK production lines, including the Carina E, Corolla, Avensis and, this year, the Auris.

But essentially, Toyota is a people business. We ensure that everyone who joins us thrives in a culture of teamwork and mutual respect, sharing the pride that comes from contributing to vehicles that lead the way in quality and reliability. Our renowned philosophy of continuous improvement applies as much to our people as it does to our vehicle operations – which is why we invest heavily in individual development.

Finally, we believe in rewarding Members for their efforts. In addition to competitive salaries, our full package includes contributory pension, life assurance scheme, private healthcare, attractive car plan, paid overtime, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, company sickness benefit, free workwear, subsidised restaurants and workplace nursery.
