Welcome to Bromsgrove

With a fascinating history and a host of attractions, Bromsgrove District sits at the north of the county of Worcestershire, halfway between the two cities of Birmingham and Worcester. It's a pleasant residential area with excellent communications and a varied and vibrant local community - and it's becoming increasingly popular with tourists. As well as beautiful countryside and delightful villages, the area has the added attraction of being the birthplace of poet A E Housman, author of A Shropshire Lad.

The council

Our main aim is to improve the quality of life for all our residents. So when it comes to service provision, the environment and economic development, we're constantly striving to improve our performance. To a large extent that depends on the calibre of the people we employ, the development we can offer them and the way they work as a team.

Living

With Redditch to the east and Kidderminster to the west, the town of Bromsgrove covers 85 square miles and has a rich and diverse population of almost 88,000 people. There are also a number of satellite communities, from Alvechurch and Barnt Green to Hagley and Wythall, all providing pleasant residential areas for people working throughout the district and in Birmingham.

Working

The more support we can offer our people, they better they can perform for the good of the community. That's the philosophy that's helping us to continually progress. And it's why our people enjoy excellent benefits. From our childcare funding scheme to discounted leisure facilities, relocation allowance to final salary pensions, flexi-time to generous holiday entitlements, there are plenty of reasons to develop your career at Bromsgrove District Council.

Getting around

For those who love the serenity of the countryside or the energy of the city, Bromsgrove is ideally situated. The M5 and M42/M40 motorways make the journey between both effortless. You'll also find quick and easy connections to the major rail links, as well as Birmingham International Airport.
