The Acquisition of Lenscrafters
Luxottica acquired Lenscrafters in 1995. Lenscrafters is the largest optical retailer in the world with 877 super optical stores throughout 48 of the 50 United States, as well as strong presence in Canada and Puerto Rico.

LensCrafters and Luxottica continue working together to improve the optical industry.

The Acquisition of Bausch & Lomb Eyewear Division
Luxottica acquired the Eyewear Division of Bausch & Lomb in June 1999 for US$636 million. In this transaction, the Group acquired all of B&L’s sunglass lines, including the prestigious Ray-Ban, Revo, Arnette and Killer Loop brands, aswell as all the frames and crystal lenses’ production facilities.

The Acquisition of Sunglass Hut International
Luxottica acquired Sunglass Hut & Watch Station International in April 2001 for US $653 million, making Luxottica the largest sunglass retailer in the world.

Sunglass Hut has more than 30 years experience in the operation of speciality locations, catering to consumers seeking the best assortment of premium quality products. There are more than 2,000 sunglass speciality locations in 15 countries around the globe.

The acquisition of LensCrafters and Sunglass Hut International have positioned Luxottica as the leader in the mid-to premium priced categories of the optical and sunglass retail market with over 2,600 retail outlets worldwide.
