Securing a graduate position with Subsea 7 is an exciting opportunity to develop first class skills through structured training, mentoring and the provision of a stimulating working environment. Subsea 7 is keen to promote internal growth and fully appreciates that our graduates of today may well be our project managers, lead engineers and Vice Presidents of tomorrow. Our graduate programme is primarily geared towards graduates with Engineering or Survey degrees or qualifications in associated subjects such as Naval Architecture & Marine Technology. However, we also have a small number of openings for graduates interested in pursuing a career within our support functions.
In 2006 we are looking to recruit 15-20 engineers into our comprehensive four year Monitored Professional Development Scheme. The programme is designed to fulfil the requirements of the engineering institutions through the achievement of core and specific competencies ultimately leading to Chartered Engineer status. The programme is specifically based on achieving the required level of competency set by the Engineering Council's UK-Spec (Standard for Professional Engineering Competence). Each graduate is assigned a mentor and undertakes a comprehensive range of activities while rotating between various discipline areas in order to obtain sound technical and analytical skills. You must have a relevant accredited Engineering degree and be committed to your professional development to attain corporate membership and CEng. Subsea 7 is accredited with I Mech E and also ICE.
Within this department we currently have graduates specialising in environmental, quality and general health and safety. You should have a relevant academic background and a keen interest in one of the above areas.
In 2004 Subsea 7 recruited their first Business Services trainee. This unique position is ideally suited to those graduates wishing to develop in the general area of business support services. Business Support Services incorporates departments such as Human Resources, Business Acquisition, Procurement & Materials and Finance. The Business Services Trainee rotates through corporate departments over a period of 3 years covering a broad range of duties and responsibilities while managing specific projects designed to improve each business area. At the end of the 3 years the trainee is expected to specialise in one corporate area and if necessary pursue the relevant professional qualification.
Last year Subsea 7 recruited four graduates from a variety of backgrounds directly into the Business Acquisition function. This year we are looking for two more! This is a great opportunity to join a fast paced, deadline driven department offering commercial exposure and challenging work from day one.
In 2005 Subsea 7 continued to introduce graduate surveyors to a new and challenging, yet thoroughly rewarding, career in Hydrographic Surveying. With a mixture of both graduate and post-graduate qualifications in disciplines such as Geomatics, Hydrography, Ocean Exploration as well as the more general mathematics and statistical subjects, our new recruits have started on their journey into the offshore survey environment, which ultimately leads to senior roles in offshore and onshore project management through our industry recognised competence assurance scheme .
We maintain our commitment to the development of new surveyors who will be at the forefront of the implementation of new survey, positioning and inspection techniques and methodologies. Our drive for employing high calibre personnel is an ongoing process and we will soon be looking at our graduate recruitment for 2006 where we anticipate recruiting up to 4 graduate surveyors. These graduates will rotate through a variety of offshore worksites and projects over a 2 year period gaining experience in all aspects of survey project preparation, data acquisition, data processing and management.
