As a leader in the field of transport telecommunications we design, supply and implement projects, provide and manage services and maintain operational cable and route infrastructure, telephones, signs, transmission systems and temporary services. Our market focused communications systems are backed by expert project support. We already provide integrated information services, such as messaging, voice, CCTV and data, essential to making integrated transport not just possible, but also highly effective and profitable.

In the rapidly growing telecommunications sector, our proven skills in system design and project management are being used in a number of telecoms network build programmes, including the roll-out of a national SDH network.

We are the people behind TORUS, the UK's most advanced customer information system. Capturing traffic data from many sources, TORUS enables customers to view resulting audio and video advice at bus stops, on trains, in departure terminals and so make more accurate travel plans. We're also the force behind Redwing, an in-cab CCTV system for busy commuter Metro routes, that's enhancing safety by allowing drivers to see the platform clearly before arrival, while the train berths and on departure.

Racal Translink is also going further underground as part of an extensive deal with London Underground to provide and manage a wide range of telecom services and new revenue streams based on optical fibre cabling and radio infrastructure.

Our significant rail and underground business is complemented by work with the Highways Agency and other road builders installing cable, fibre and telephones.

We're doing all of this, and much more. Our order book already features over £1 / 2 billion in orders and there's still much to do. The potential to be gained from upgrading current transport communication networks is extensive, and could also benefit other forms of transport in many ways.
