At Shred-it we help customers manage and secure one of their most important assets: their business information. Our business model is simple: develop and provide the most reliable information security solutions to meet clients' compliance obligations and help them manage risk.

The Shred-it story

Like most companies, Shred-it began with a vision; the vision of entrepreneur Greg Brophy to create a corporate culture of exceptional service and employee development.

It started with Greg and a single truck, and in 1988 Shred-it Document Destruction was born. Soon, one truck grew to three, and we've been moving forward ever since.

Today we employ more than 3000 people in over 16 countries. Building on the company's original values and vision for excellence, we've expanded to offer secure information management solutions for over 150,000 customers around the world - including Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, banks and government agencies.

Shred-it founded its first UK branch in 1999 and has since grown to 14 branches.

Shred-it UK is a results driven organization that creates an environment where committed, motivated individuals can contribute and succeed. Associates work as a team to deliver secure, high-level, and efficient document destruction services. Everyone feels accountable to their team and to their customers because they provide a valuable service in the marketplace.

While it's true we've evolved from a small company to a world-wide fixture, Shred-it still, to this day, stays true to our commitment to exceptional service and employee development.

Growing fast

Shred-it has experienced double digit growth every year for the last 20 years. The information security market is booming; privacy legislation requires companies to securely manage and destroy information, there's a heightened awareness of fraud and its implications, and the high cost of in-house document destruction is leading more and more companies to outsource to experts like Shred-it.
