Pernod Ricard is the world’s co-leader in Wines and Spirits.

Since its creation in 1975, when Pernod and Ricard, long standing competitors in the French anise market, decided to join forces, Pernod Ricard has undergone significant growth.

The Group now produces and distributes some of the most prestigious spirit and wine brands in the world. It has built this impressive brand portfolio by focusing on core brands and through acquisition, the most recent of which was the Swedish group V&S in July 2008. Key activity is focused on the 15 key brands which demonstrate the strongest growth potential and represent more than half of the Group’s profits.

A distinguishing feature of Pernod Ricard is its decentralised management structure consisting of a Holding Company and subsidiaries. The Holding Company focuses on the strategic management whilst its subsidiaries, in over 70 countries worldwide, have the autonomy to make operational decisions close to the consumers in that country. As a brand owning company, Chivas Brothers is responsible for defining global marketing strategies for all brands in its portfolio and works with distribution companies worldwide to implement and adapt these plans to their local markets.

Chivas Brothers employs 1,600 staff across 28 sites in Scotland and London, with headquarters in Paisley, Scotland. The company has 13 operating malt distilleries, a grain distillery, a gin distillery and over 300 bonded warehouses, containing an extensive aged inventory of more than six million casks.

Chivas Regal is a truly global brand, selling 4.6 million 9L cases annually in over 200 countries with more than a bottle sold every second.

The brand has achieved strong global performance with dynamic growth around the world. The range is the epitome of style and substance and consists of three expressions, Chivas Regal 12, 18 and 25 Year Old.

Chivas Regal 12YO is a dynamic, energetic brand named as the UK's most desirable whisky by CoolBrands and the brand is associated with a contagious appetite for life.

Chivas Regal has recently launched a new advertising campaign called "Live with Chivalry" that promotes a positive point of view on life and embodies sometimes forgotten values such as loyalty and honour. The campaign was launched across the world in October 2008. The new campaign builds on the successful "This is the Chivas life" campaign launched and rolled out across the world in 2003.

Chivas Regal 18YO s a luxurious and indulgent Scotch whisky and appeals to luxury consumers from within and outside the whisky category. CR18YO is a luxurious blend made from whiskies that are hand-picked by the acclaimed master blender Colin Scott for their exceptional richness. Its rich, indulgent quality has been recognized at the highest level with two gold medals at the IWSC (1999, 2005).

Chivas Regal 25YO is the pinnacle of the Chivas Regal range and is synonymous with the Chivas legend that began when the brand was introduced into the glamour of New Your in 1909 as a 25YO luxury blended Scotch. After WWI and prohibition it disappeared and became a collectors' item. CR25YO returned to the global stage in 2007 following a worldwide launch in NY to celebrate where the story began. CR25YO is now permanently available in all major cities worldwide. The launch of CR25YO was part of Chivas Brothers' premiumisation strategy, which champions the codes of luxury brands and craftsmanship.

It is the distribution arm of Pernod Ricard Europe responsible for the Travel Retail channel. The company has been established since 2001 to reflect the fast growth in travel retail shopping in the region. Selling almost 1 million cases, the company has a strong position in this region distributing to airports, airlines and ferries.

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Europe currently employs 38 staff, in 4 countries from a diverse background of 15 nationalities. More than a distribution arm, the company brings the Group’s brand marketing strategies to reality touching millions of travellers in Europe. The main objective is to provide a shop window for brands through premium merchandising and innovative promotional activities.
