PGL Travel Ltd is the UK’s leading provider of residential activity holidays and educational courses for children.

2007 marks our 50th year of successful business. The company has grown from founder Peter Gordon Lawrence taking canvas canoe trips on Herefordshire’s River Wye in the summer holidays, to operating at 34 locations in the UK, France and Spain, employing around 2,500 staff each year and providing almost 3 million children with a PGL experience.

Our guests spend their days learning to climb, sail, canoe and quadbike, amongst 50+ other activities, so they work up quite an appetite!

PGL’s catering teams prepare wholesome, canteen-style home cooked meals to fuel guests and staff for their day of activities. We launched a healthy eating charter in 2006, recognising the importance of fresh produce and quality ingredients.

Our centres vary in size and location, from beach-side tented camps on the sunsoaked French Mediterranean coast, to converted chateaus and former English country houses. The smallest centre caters for around 50 guests, with the largest seeing almost 1,000 people passing through the dining room each meal time.

With a team of activity instructors, housekeeping and catering teams living on site at each centre, there’s an active social life ready and waiting for you.

We offer fantastic training and qualification opportunities to our staff team, including the nationally-recognised Apprenticeship programme in Hospitality, to help you earn while you learn and get qualified ‘on the job.’
