bullet Our Organisation

Transport for London (TfL) is responsible for delivering the Mayor's transport strategy across the capital – easing congestion, increasing mobility, and providing better conditions for the millions of people who travel in London each day.

Our remit includes buses, trains, coaches and river transport, as well as London Underground and a vast and intricate road network for drivers and cyclists. We make sure that these different areas work smoothly together and continue to complement one another.

We've recently been going through a time of massive investment and development, with dynamic growth taking place throughout our organisation. For a start, the London Underground has embarked on the largest regeneration programme of its 140-year history – delivered through a Public Private Partnership, we aim to make it a truly world-class transport system within the next thirty years.

But the extent of our work certainly doesn't end there. We're firmly committed to tackling the capital's deep-rooted transport problems across the board, and are enhancing its traffic systems accordingly. Improving London's roads and reducing congestion, we're also aiming to attract more people to public transport and to make this safer, cleaner and more user-friendly than ever.
