and Bank of Scotland group. Peter Wood was the founder of Direct Line in the
1980s. Our aim is to be one of the top five UK motor insurers within 5 years,
and we’re already in the top 20 after just one year of trading. esure was
announced in 2000 as a £150m investment for the Halifax and is a business
with two major elements:

  • Halifax-branded motor insurance operation (Halifax Car Insurance)
  • esure-branded general insurance operation, which will offer a range of
    products, via telephone and the web.

    We believe that better drivers deserve better policies and therefore good drivers
    could save up to 30% off their current car insurance, (you need a minimum of 4
    years no claim discount to get a quote though!) We also offer home insurance
    and have plans in the future to offer pet, travel and small commercial. esure
    has offices in Reigate, Manchester and Glasgow. We currently have over 650
    staff and are still growing!
