Our international tax professionals are capable of assisting with almost any tax question through our international network. However, the main concentration of our tax services here in Bermuda relates to insurance and reinsurance companies and alternative investment companies (hedge funds.
For the reinsurance practice we have expertise in compliance and tax planning for international reinsurance companies based here as well as captives and other insurance vehicles operating on the island. We consult with our Washington office for complex tax planning issues of our clients and partners of that practice are regular visitors to the Island, bringing the most up to date tax information to our clients. We also have a regular base of clients in Bermuda for whom we provide tax compliance services.
For our alternative investment (hedge funds) practice, we assist a large number of clients with compliance services to ensure that investors make the correct filings with the tax authorities. We are also able to offer tax planning ideas to investors and to investment advisors to funds. For complex issues we have a consultation network with the tax professionals in our Boston office.
