Blick Rothenberg
Blick Rothenberg was founded in 1945 and since then has gone from strength to strength.
Our growth has come from the success of our clients, not from practice mergers. Many of our early clients have grown with us, becoming successful and substantial businesses passing through the generations and continuing as valued clients.
We have also, for many years, specialised in assisting overseas companies to set up in the UK.
Our worldwide reputation has flourished as our multilingual partners and staff have helped some of the biggest international names establish a presence in the UK. Consequently, today many of our clients are part of groups whose parents are listed on stock markets in their own countries and our clients, both small and large, come from every part of the globe. We believe that our experience is unrivalled outside the very largest firms.
Our success and expertise, in assisting both UK and overseas owned companies, and the exceptional nature of our client base has continued to flourish and grow, helping us to become a leading independent provider of service to UK domestic businesses and private clients and a market leader in assisting overseas companies in the UK.
It is for these reasons that we believe that Blick Rothenberg is well equipped to deliver the highest quality of service, combining the experience of large organisations with the approachability of a smaller more personal advisor.
Our services
Service is about people. In order to ensure a proper level of service and continuity we always try to ensure that at least two partners are assigned to each client, supported by an appropriate team.
Our services fall into three broad categories –
- corporate assurance and compliance
- corporate advisory
- personal advisory and compliance
Our clients
- Owner managed companies and partnerships
- Overseas businesses setting up in the UK
- Private clients
Our unique reputation and experience has brought us numbers of specialist projects and assignments for major blue chip commercial, governmental and institutional enterprises.
Such projects have included:
- Public reporting on the demerger of a substantial division of an FT 100 plc
- Internal audit to confirm the reliability of the accounting of a major governmental operation
- Preparation of management accounting information for a transaction to be entered into by an FT 100 plc
- Preparation of accounts for deferred consideration on a transaction valued at $1billion
- Secondment to inward investment agency
- Expert reports and testimony in the course of civil litigation
We are also proud to act for a number of charities. Whether operating as a business or not, a charity often requires many of the same services as a commercial organisation.
Our work ranges from administration, accounting and audit, to advisory and planning assignments.

BRAL Limited
BRAL is a Blick Rothenberg company and is able to draw on the resources and expertise of one of the UK’s leading independent firms of chartered accountants.
BRAL Limited was set up in 1984 as a specialised unit providing outsourced accounting solutions for clients who prefer to focus on their core business – leaving us to handle administrative and compliance areas which are important, but can be a distraction.
BRAL’s commitment to clients, people and technology has resulted in a client base of exceptional quality and has made us one of the leading outsourced accounting and administrative service providers in the country.
What do we do?
BRAL offers the advantage of a sophisticated multilingual accounting, administration and payroll department without the worry, hassle and expense of running such a department in-house.
We assign a dedicated and committed team of people to run the ‘back office’ for each client.
Services include:
- Bookkeeping and preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual management accounts.
- VAT – cross border compliance and reclaim
- Payroll
- Sales invoicing
- Sales ledger/receivables management
- Cash management and projections
- Purchase ledger/payables management
- Telephone answering service– a ‘virtual office’
Overseas clients looking to set up in the UK, often with little knowledge of local customs and compliance regulations require the security and convenience of an experienced, established back office service. Their priority is to allow local management to focus on bringing the product or service to market, whilst providing head office with reliable and timely management information.
Our overseas owned clients range from small family businesses, initially setting up modest representation in the UK, to substantial manufacturers and retailers setting up nationwide.
Our UK owned clients appreciate the benefit of outsourcing non-core support activities whilst retaining a high level of service.
Companies who have benefited from our services include:
- Supplier of branded consumer electronic equipment, employing thousands of people
- Major retailer of beauty and skincare products employing some 200 people
- Publicly traded web-hosting and ISP company employing some 100 people
- Distributor of shopfittings employing 15 staff
- Wholesaler and retailer of luxury leather goods employing 10 people
- UK sales office for IT company with 1 employee working from home
