Activision’s mission is to be a worldwide leader in the development, publishing and distribution of engaging, quality interactive entertainment software products that will delight our consumers.
Founded in 1979, we are an international publisher who develops and markets video gaming products across a variety of game platforms including PC, PlayStation® 2 and 3 systems from Sony, Nintendo's Wii™, the Xbox 360™ system from Microsoft, and hand-held consoles such as Nintendo DS® and Sony PSP™.
We focus development and publishing on products that are, or have the potential to become, long term franchise properties. Our current franchises include fantastic brands such as Spider-Man® and Shrek, the well established Tony Hawk™ and Call of Duty®. Also new to Activision this year, Transformers and James Bond.
Our products cover many genres from action adventure and sports to role-playing, simulation and strategy. In addition to publishing games that appeal to hardcore gamers, we also develop gaming products for kids and young teens for DreamWorks movies. Recently we acquired RedOctane, Inc. and it’s highly popular Guitar Hero franchise.
Activision currently has global revenue of $1.47 billion and 2,100 employees worldwide. Together with the Lucas Arts, which we publish in Europe, and Red Octane businesses we are consistently in the top three publishers of video games worldwide.
We operate in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. & Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Australia, Scandinavia, Spain and the Benelux. We distribute primarily through the major specialist games and entertainment retailers, online, super/hypermarkets and consumer electronics retailers. We have a growing reputation within the industry for successfully partnering with our customers on a range of core and trade marketing activities.
The video game industry is an exciting and fast-moving one. Our European division is growing rapidly employing around 200 people who are based in offices across 9 countries. The key European markets are U.K. (40%), Germany (20%) and France (20%), and we have further significant European expansion planned.
Driven by the enhanced capabilities of the next generation of platforms and the growth of gaming as a pastime, we believe that there will be significant future market growth for interactive entertainment software. This coupled with a strong forthcoming release schedule means we are looking for talented people to help us extend our leading position in the industry.
The culture at Activision Europe is inclusive and collaborative with every single member of the European team eager to make a difference and drive the business forward. The pace of the business is fast and not for the fainthearted. We continually seek to improve performance through building our capabilities and support systems. The business seeks to reward talent and we constantly seek out new ways to make Activision a great place to work.
If you are talented, love a challenge and want to work in a fun, fast-paced environment then we want to hear from you.
