Demand for organic food is very high, and we are enjoying tremendous success. In the last 18 months, we have doubled the number of customers we deliver to and have extended our delivery area from London to include the Home Counties. Established in 1988, we are based at a warehouse in South East London and have 80 employees. We will be opening a second, larger site this summer. This will be the first of many sites opening up around the country over the next five years.

We offer a wide range of carefully sourced food and drink to a loyal and discerning customer base. We offer weekly selections of seasonal fruit and vegetables, along with a wide range of outstanding British organic meats, sustainably caught sea fish, a complete dairy selection, freshly baked organic breads, organic beers, wines and juices and pantry goods. We continue to expand our product range in response to customer requests.

We are set apart from the competition by the products and the service that we offer. Our fresh produce selections are personalised to each customer's preferences. Our service includes delivery to the doorstep for no extra charge, an automatic shopping system, an extremely friendly telephone service, automatic payment facilities and a news and recipes sheet with every delivery. We also have a fully interactive website where customers can manage their own accounts online 24 hours a day. We have built highly sophisticated IT systems to enable us to provide this efficient and flexible service for our customers.

At the heart of Abel & Cole is the desire to work in partnership with farmers and growers, to serve them as well as the customer. Our relationship with the farmers gives us access to superb quality and variety at good prices, which enables us to give a better service to our customers. We are particularly committed to our links with British farmers. We buy our produce as locally as possible, striking a careful balance between locality and variety. Our supplies are around 70% British and there are hundreds of hectares of British land under organic cultivation to supply us.
