We are often asked why we have chosen Daruma to represent our ethos and principles. We find Daruma a very inspiring story:
Daruma was a Buddhist monk, and the founder of modern day Zen Buddhism. After becoming disillusioned with the stresses of everyday life, he remained isolated in a cave for 7 years to find true enlightenment. The Japanese developed the Daruma doll, which is given as a gift to friends and business colleagues each year. Using black ink, the receiver fills in a single circular eye while thinking of a goal or wish. Only when the goal has been achieved does the receiver fill in the second eye!.The Daruma doll has become a symbol for persistence, achievement & a never give up attitude. A Japanese proverb closely associated with Daruma is: “Nana Korobi Yaoki” which means “if you fall down seven times, you can get up eight”. We have adopted the same principles of Daruma – persistency and consistency in search of excellence and achievement of goals. We would be delighted if you joined us on this journey.
