Pay, benefits & training.
Basic salary with shift allowances ranges from £17,000 to £20,000
(depending on hours worked).
PCSOs also have the option of joining the local government pension scheme.
Annual leave
You will receive 24 days' paid leave a year (plus public holidays) which
increases to 29 days after five years' service. You’ll also be compensated
if you have to work on a public holiday.
On appointment, you will undergo four weeks' classroom-based training. This
will introduce you to Thames Valley Police and the your new role, as well
as help you to establish skills and knowledge in areas such as:
- Radio procedure
- Report writing
- Communication skills
- Gathering intelligence
- Managing a crime scene
- Problem solving
- Use of powers
- Use of force
- Human rights
- Race & diversity
- Road checks
- Health, safety & welfare.
